It’s a new week on America’s Next Pop Icon! This week, we have recording artist Daniel Capellaro in the studio, known on stage as DVNIEL.
On Iconic News, we learn from Jessica that The Weeknd’s hit single “Blinding Lights” has spent a full year in the top 10 of the Billboard 100 chart, beating out Post Malone’s “Circles”! Wow. In other news, Cardi B’s E! True Hollywood Story aired recently, and the rapper was apparently not pleased with the way that she was portrayed…yikes.
Moving on from pop culture news, we got the chance to speak to DVNIEL and see what he’s been up to during quarantine. The Los Angeles-based artist has an R&B-tinged pop sound, reminiscent of Justin Timberlake or The Weeknd; we definitely recommend checking him out. We were honored to get an exclusive listen of his track “Lie to Me,” a soulful track with bittersweet lyrics. We also enjoyed hearing “Good For Me,” a sweet track that was written for Daniel’s wife (aww!) and inspired by his feelings of gratitude for her. Check him out on Spotify here and Instagram here!
Last but ABSOLUTELY not least, we have singing tips with Julian Miranda! On this week’s segment, we talked with Julian about what it takes to be a showman onstage – because we all know that stage presence is a huge part of performing, but can it be learned? According to Julian, there’s a fine line between creating a level of comfort in your body that looks natural to your audience, and coming off as corny. Learning how to hold a microphone, how to stand on stage, where to look – are all important details to master that can help.
As always – a reminder to call in and SING for a chance to be crowned America’s Next Pop Icon! Call us at 1-844-455-3825. See ya next time!
