Happy April ya’ll! On this week’s episode, we find out what’s cookin (as Andrew would say) in the music world and beyond.

This week on Iconic News, Jessica informed us that Drake has pushed back his album release yet again due to a torn ACL! Not great news for our Drake fans out there. On top of that, we got the scoop on Weezer and Sam Smith’s new album releases, and Cher’s virtual concerts. Even in the midst of the pandemic, there still manages to be a lot going on! In other interesting news, The Rolling Stones are apparently releasing their own chocolate brand? Of course there’s a brown sugar flavor…

Btw, don’t forget to send in your band tees so that our lovely co-host Jessica can wear them on the show!

Andrew and Jessica also sat down with Vegas-based artist Marina Mackenzie, aka Marzie. Originally from Brazil, Marzie creates a blend of Spanish and American pop and sings in a blend of Portugese, Spanish and English. After postponing the release of her new album due to the birth of her baby (congrats!), it will finally be coming out soon. We got to hear her amazing track “Better Without You,” about an abusive relationship from her past. We also heard “Me Voy De Rumba,” a fun upbeat track with a reggaeton vibe sung in Spanish. You can find her on Instagram at @marziemusic!

We introduced a new vocal coach this time around on our vocal tips segment, Lisa Marie! She tells us that breathing, and more particularly how you breathe, is a super important aspect of singing even if it doesn’t seem like it may be. Lisa shows Andrew her favorite singing techniques, watch the full episode to check it out!

Another great episode in the books – catch the next episode this Sunday at 8pm PST!
